SARASOTA, February 10, 2017 – “I would ask my father, ‘What should I be when I grow up?’ and he would say, ‘whatever you decide, make sure you are helping people, that’s when you will know your purpose.’” – Ann Curry
Packaging Distributors of America sponsored a table at the 8th Annual Tidewell Hospice Signature Luncheon on Friday February 10, 2017 at The Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, FL. Each year the luncheon attendee count has grown, this year being the highest, with nearly 800 attendees. This fundraising luncheon is meant to celebrate the compassion and caregiving spirit that embodies Tidewell.
Lunch was served, followed by a Welcome & Special Thanks from Hayley Wielgus, ABC 7 News Anchor, then the Sponsor Remarks were delivered by RG “Kelly” Caldwell, Jr., CEO and President, Caldwell Trust.
Gerry Radford, President and CEO of Tidewell Hospice then introduced the Keynote speaker, Ann Curry. Curry is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and national and international correspondent for NBC for 25 years, including 15 years as the Anchor at TODAY and frequent anchor at NBC Nightly News.

She has been recognized for her charitable efforts in the area of breast cancer research, and is an honorary board member of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Many of Curry’s other accolades extend across the wide spectrum of caregiving.
Tidewell Hospice has been providing the highest quality care for those with advanced illnesses for 35 years. A unique feature to hospice: Tidewell addresses the whole person – including spiritual and psychosocial needs – as well as the entire family unit. “Tidewell doesn’t give you the power to shorten or prolong life, just the power to live it as you choose.”
