Change can be challenging, but around every corner – inside every box – is a new opportunity to make a connection.

Atlanta – February 27, 2017 – Today Packaging Distributors of America (PDA) launched a new edition to our video campaign Every Box Has a Story. The video, titled “Life’s Milestones,” depicts the emotional experience that is created on moving day.


As the parents of daughter, Nya, move rugs, mattresses and a truck-load of boxes, Nya’s interest and enthusiasm about moving begins to shift to sadness because she feels left-out and isolated. In an effort to regain her parents attention and feel connection within her family, Nya constructs a bright, colorful house out of left-over boxes.


One-sixth of all Americans, an estimated 43 million people or 17 percent of the total U.S. population, move each year (U.S. Census Bureau). Further, moving is the third most stressful event in life, following death and divorce. (Employee Relocation Council).


The story depicts a reality for many people: the mixed emotions that come with change.  Viewers are also able to feel how boxes and packaging are often connectors between people and within and individual’s own experience.  As Nya makes a decision to change her own emotional experience on moving day she regains power over the situation, instilling hope and creating a silver lining.  This vulnerability is what ultimately connects the family and story with the PDA audience and other viewers


Two primary themes of the video are recycling (ie. repurposing of the resources that we use to make our daily lives possible) and family (ie. the connection between family members during difficult times and stressful circumstances).


Each edition to the Every Box Has a Story has a specific aim to demonstrate Packaging Distributors of America’s keen awareness that quality care and trust are critical components to the client and customer journey.


The full 60-second video was produced in Sarasota, Florida by Twenty Five Apart and Up All Night Productions, and has been distributed to industry news and information sources, as well as social media channels.

Our intention with “Every Box Has a Story” is to encourage all to consider the moments in our lives where packaging has an impact. We set out to bring the box to life: to give boxes unforgettable and meaningful stories.
