Philanthropy and giving back is an integral part of the PDA culture.
Many in our PDA family have stepped up during this time to help their respective communities and local organizations. Every year at the PDA Annual Meeting, we select a local charity to support via donations, raffles, a charity golf outing and a matching gift from PDA headquarters.
This year, our Annual Meeting was to be held at the Montage Palmetto Bluff resort in Bluffton SC. The property was a true partner and excellent In working with us to cancel and rebook our event June 2022.
We know the hospitality industry has been extremely hard hit by Covid-19 and that Palmetto Bluff was closed for several months; sending employees home or having to be furloughed or laid off. A relief fund was started and PDA made a generous donation to that fund in lieu of cancelling the charitable contribution totally.
As the General Manager of Montage Palmetto Bluff said, “We are very grateful to PDA for your generous gift. We will share this with the team who will, undoubtedly, be overwhelmed with the thought. We are proud of our partnership and look forward to showing you our commitment during your next visit with us.”
We are proud and grateful that we are part of an essential industry that allows us to give back. It is so important that we support the community around us and those who are in industries that have been so negatively impacted by Covid.
